Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

 

Commercial Pilot Licence / Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) Frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)


A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) enables you to operate as a Pilot-In-Command (PIC) or co-pilot of a Malaysian-registered aircraft,
primarily for leisure flying and other non-commercial purposes, for the aircraft class or types specified in your licence.


Entry Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 17 to register for training. Must be 18 upon application for the issue of CPL/IR.
  • Completion of SPM or IGCSE or equivalent qualifications with at least 5 credit in English, Mathematics, and Science subjects.
  • Pass a Class I medical examination with a requisite certificate from a CAAM Designated Medical Examiner (DME)
  • Obtain a Letter of Approval from the CAAM (by submitting form CAAM/BOP/FCL/50 along with academic qualifications).
  • Pass IATAC's Psychomotor Test.

IATAC offers Ground School training for the CAAM ATPL required for the issuance of a CPL/IR. The entire syllabus is covered in 750 hours

Flying Phase Training

During the flying phase, students will experience the most exciting part of their training. They will fly on PA28 or DA40NG and DA42NG aircraft, complemented by simulator training. The total flight training, including the CPL/IR flight test, encompasses a minimum of 200 hours, broken down as follows


  • Single Engine (SE) - 135 hours
  • Multi Engine (ME) - 25 hours
  • FNPT II Flight Simulator - 40 hours
